Established in 1927 with a 16x16' shake cabin, an L-4 cab replaced it in 1931. The present 10' concrete base topped by an R-6 cab, built in 1961, was used for emergencies into the 1970's. Open to public use, the site is located in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness.
