Developed about 1932 with a 50' pole tower topped with an L-4 cab, the present 41' treated timber tower with R-6 flat cab, built in 1959, has been partially restored by the Colville National Forest & Pend Oreille Anthropological Society. It has been used off and on for brief periods during the fire season to detect fires. The tower is also on the National Historic Lookout Register.
