HAT POINT LOOKOUT
A 60' pole tower with 7x7' cab was built in 1916, replaced by the present 82' treated timber tower with 7x7' cab in 1948. A visitor observation deck was added later. The lookout is staffed every summer. Known lookout personnel: 1935: James Wilson; 1941: Ray Knudsen; 1942-1943: G. Lawrence Potter; 1946: Lee Fleshman; 1947: Ray Bennett; 1948: Tom Osborn; 1949-1950: Vern Hicok; 1951: Bob Anderson; 1955-1956: Gerald Davidson; 1962: Gordon Osborn; 1966-1967: Gerald Kohler; 1971: Jim Durfey.
