First developed in 1928 with a log cabin, which is still there, followed by a 30' wooden tower with 7x7' cab built in 1934, the present 41' treated timber tower with R-6 flat cab replaced the previous tower in 1966. The lookout is currently on the Recreation Rental program, and is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register.
